This guide lists the changed and custom evolution methods in Pokemon Team Rocket Edition by DragonsDen.
The current game changes a number of evolutions that normally require trading, friendship, regional conditions or other mechanics. It also adds evolution methods for regional forms and Pokemon created specifically for Team Rocket Edition.
The list below follows the current Spanish documentation for the v3.0 release, with newer creator changes included where applicable.
Important: if a Pokemon does not appear in this guide, the creator’s current documentation says it keeps an evolution method similar to the official Pokemon games.
If an evolution requires a Sacred Stone, Link Stone, Rocket Stone, Devon Stone or another evolution item, see the Pokemon Team Rocket Edition Evolution Stones Locations guide.

How to Evolve Eevee into Sylveon
Sylveon was added to the current evolution information in the v3.0.2 update.
Eevee can evolve into Sylveon after learning a Fairy-type move.
The creator’s v3.0.2 notes specifically identify levels 9, 20 and 29 as levels where Eevee can learn a qualifying Fairy-type move.
This is separate from the other Eeveelution methods used in Team Rocket Edition:
| Eevee Evolution | Method |
|---|---|
| Espeon | Sun Stone |
| Umbreon | Moon Stone |
| Leafeon | Leaf Stone |
| Glaceon | Ice Stone |
| Sylveon | Learn a Fairy-type move |
Trade Evolutions in Team Rocket Edition
Several Pokemon that normally depend on trading in official games use levels or the Link Stone instead.
Examples include:
| Pokemon | Team Rocket Edition Method |
|---|---|
| Kadabra → Alakazam | Level 45 |
| Machoke → Machamp | Level 51 |
| Graveler → Golem | Level 45 |
| Haunter → Gengar | Level 52 |
| Boldore → Gigalith | Level 49 |
| Onix → Steelix | Link Stone |
| Seadra → Kingdra | Link Stone |
| Scyther → Scizor | Link Stone |
| Rhydon → Rhyperior | Link Stone |
| Electabuzz → Electivire | Link Stone |
| Dusclops → Dusknoir | Link Stone |
| Gurdurr → Conkeldurr | Link Stone |
| Karrablast → Escavalier | Link Stone |
| Shelmet → Accelgor | Link Stone |
| Spritzee → Aromatisse | Link Stone |
| Swirlix → Slurpuff | Link Stone |
This means these evolutions can be completed within the game without relying on the original trade requirement.
Need a Link Stone? See the Evolution Stones Locations guide.

Rocket Stone Evolutions
The Rocket Stone is used for several Pokemon created or modified through Team Rocket’s experiments.
Current Rocket Stone evolutions include:
- Electrode → Electrode-Y
- Electivire → Electivire-X
- Magmortar → Magmortar-Y
- Nidoking → Nidoking-X
- Nidoqueen → Nidoqueen-Y
- Tauros → Tauros-X
- Porygon2 → Porygon3
- Aerodactyl → Aerodactyl-P
For the current Rocket Stone location and availability requirements, see the Evolution Stones Locations guide.
Sacred Stone Evolutions
The Sacred Stone has a much wider role than a normal evolution stone.
It is used for:
- many Alolan, Galarian and Hisuian forms
- newer official evolutions such as Annihilape, Farigiraf, Kleavor, Ursaluna, Wyrdeer and Kingambit
- several custom Pokemon and forms created for Team Rocket Edition
Examples include:
- Primeape → Annihilape
- Scyther → Kleavor
- Ursaring → Ursaluna
- Girafarig → Farigiraf
- Bisharp → Kingambit
- Raichu → Gorochu
- Pinsir → Purakkusu
- Noctowl → Boohoo
- Xatu → Trxatu
- Dunsparce → Blessparce
Use the complete tables above for the exact method for each Pokemon.
Devon Stone Evolutions
The Devon Stone is used for three documented custom forms:
| Pokemon Evolution | Method |
|---|---|
| Cradily → Cradily-P | Devon Stone |
| Armaldo → Armaldo-P | Devon Stone |
| Relicanth → Relicanth-P | Devon Stone |
The Devon Stone is a game-specific evolution item rather than a standard evolution stone from the main Pokemon games.
Its current availability is covered in the Evolution Stones Locations guide.
Porygon Evolutions
Porygon has multiple evolution paths in Team Rocket Edition.
| Evolution | Method |
|---|---|
| Porygon → Porygon2 | Use Upgrade as an evolution stone |
| Porygon2 → Porygon-Z | Use Dubious Disc as an evolution stone |
| Porygon2 → Porygon3 | Rocket Stone |
Unlike the traditional trade-based evolution, Upgrade and Dubious Disc are used directly as evolution items in Team Rocket Edition.
Pokemon Not Listed in This Guide
The current creator documentation includes an important rule:
Pokemon that are not listed in the changed-evolution documentation keep an evolution method similar to their official-game method.
This guide therefore focuses on evolutions that Team Rocket Edition specifically changes or adds rather than repeating every normal Pokemon evolution.
If you are looking for a Pokemon that does not appear above, check how that Pokemon normally evolves in the official games first.
Where to Find Evolution Stones
Many of the methods on this page require:
- Sacred Stone
- Link Stone

Their availability changes as you progress through the game’s regions and story.

It doesn’t. According to the Discord mod Crobat is the only one that does. Even though an opponent has one in game, the player cannot as of yet.
