Download Pokemon Team Rocket Edition by DragonsDen for Game Boy Advance. The game has separate Spanish and English releases, and they are currently at different stages of the story.
The Spanish version is the primary version developed first and is currently on v3.0.6, with content through the Hoenn update. The English version is v1.5 and currently includes Kanto, the Sevii Islands and Johto.
If you are updating the Spanish game from an older Hoenn release, read the save compatibility warning below before loading your old .sav file.

Updating from v3.0.1–v3.0.5
Save files created from v3.0.1 onward are intended to remain compatible with later releases in the current 3.0 line.
If you are already playing v3.0.3, v3.0.4 or v3.0.5, you should therefore be able to continue with the same current 3.0 save in v3.0.6.
It is still a good idea to keep a backup copy of your .sav file before replacing or updating game files.
Important Save Compatibility Warning for Older Hoenn Saves
Do not load a save from the previous Hoenn Part 1 release from the older 2.0 line directly into the current 3.0 release.
Those older Hoenn saves are not compatible with the current game.
If you are moving from the previous Hoenn release, you have two options:
- Start a new game.
- Use Ephemeris Mode to begin from a later point in the story.
Trying to load an incompatible old .sav can cause the game to fail to load correctly or appear corrupted.
This does not necessarily mean the current game file itself is damaged.
What is Ephemeris Mode?
Ephemeris Mode is designed for players who need to start a new save but do not want to replay the entire earlier adventure.
It allows you to begin from a selected story point.
For example, if you have already played Kanto and the Sevii Islands, you can choose a later starting point instead of repeating those sections from the beginning.
In the English game interface, the title-screen option is called Ephemeris Rocket.
Ephemeris Mode is especially useful for the current Spanish update because older Hoenn Part 1 save files cannot be carried directly into v3.0.3.

The latest English release is Pokemon Team Rocket Edition v1.5.
The English version currently includes:
- Kanto
- Sevii Islands
- Johto
The Johto DLC and Hoenn have not yet been added to the English translation.
The English version is translated from the original Spanish game, so new story content appears in Spanish first.
English v1.5 Downloads
Players who want the newest available story content can use the Spanish v3.0.3 release. Players who want to play in English should stay with the current v1.5 translation until a newer English version is released.

Do not download the Spanish version expecting an English-language Hoenn playthrough. The two releases have separate progress.

The 3.0 release is a major expansion of the Spanish version.
New Story Content
The update adds:

The game now progresses through the current Hoenn update, while Hoenn Part 2 remains in development.
More Pokemon
The initial v3.0 release added more than 78 newly obtainable Pokemon compared with the previous version, bringing the stated obtainable total at that stage to 788.
The wider Pokedex data has also been configured through Generation 9.
Easy, Normal and Hard Difficulty
Players can now select:

- Normal
- Hard
Difficulty can be chosen from the Options menu.
Day, Afternoon and Night System
The current release includes a day, afternoon and night system.
Battle Dialogue
Some important Trainers can now speak during battles.
Expanded Generation 9 Content
Pokemon, items, moves and abilities have been expanded through Generation 9.
The current release also includes newer Mega Evolution content, including Mega Evolutions and Mega Stones from Pokemon Legends: Z-A and its DLC.

Battle and Dialogue Speed Options
The Options menu now includes configurable speed-up settings for:
- battles
- dialogue
The battle speed-up is designed without changing the music tempo.

Ephemeris Mode was redesigned and improved for the current release.
Music Improvements
Several MIDI tracks were improved, and additional music was added.
Recent v3.0 Maintenance Updates
Pokemon Team Rocket Edition v3.0.6
v3.0.6 continues the maintenance work while also adding presentation and metagame improvements.
Changes include:
- Qwilfish and its evolutionary line now react correctly to the Sacred Stone
- TM sales at the Mauville Game Corner were fixed
- using an Escape Rope in the Celadon Sewers now returns the player to the correct location
- the player no longer incorrectly appears in the Aether Village cutscene
- the Pokedex now includes Area and Stats sections
- Dun Tower now has its own map preview
- Lavender Radio Tower now has its own map preview
- the former Champion used in a side quest received a new overworld sprite and mini sprite
- Misdreavus now appears in Lost Cave at the same encounter rarity as Murkrow
- Guardia now receives the Thick Club benefit, like Cubone and Marowak

v3.0.5 placed particular emphasis on emulator compatibility and stability.
Changes included:
- multiple emulator incompatibilities fixed, especially problems reported with My Boy
- several causes of crashes, freezes and unexpected save corruption addressed
- Hoenn nighttime visual issues fixed
- Hoenn flags affected by the day/night cycle corrected
- Marowak can evolve into Guardia from level 108
- XXXL Candies for the level 95–100 range now work correctly
- the sea connection between Olivine City and the eastern route was fixed
- additional visual, collision, script and dialogue corrections

v3.0.4 focused on gameplay, progression and visual fixes.
Important corrections included:
- turbo in battle no longer causing the next opposing Pokemon to appear invisible after certain level-up situations
- losing a battle now removes 5% of the player’s money instead of 50%
- several progression blockers and collision problems were fixed
- Aurora Veil became obtainable in the hidden section of Icefall Cave
- Hard Mode correctly restricts the Bag during Trainer battles while still allowing it against wild Pokemon for catching
- Primal Zapdos received its level-up movepool
- Samurott can transform into Hisuian Samurott using a Sacred Stone

v3.0.3 is the latest current Spanish release.
The update includes another set of fixes and changes:
- Pokemon stat-screen crashes are described by the creator as presumably fully fixed
- Crashes involving certain Pokemon at the egg-move tutor are described as presumably fully fixed
- Some double battles that could freeze the game were fixed
- An incorrect tile in Magno Cave was fixed
- Hyper Potion now restores 200 HP instead of 120
- Newly added Mega Evolutions no longer remain active after battle
- A Mt. Mortar collision that allowed Surf on land was fixed
- The S.S. Aqua captain now disappears after the intended conversation
- Andra no longer appears at the Inta Island base after returning following completion of Kanto
- Magnemite no longer blocks progression after losing during the new main mission
Debug Mode in v3.0.3
The current v3.0.3 release makes Debug Mode available without the previous password restrictions during the current 3.0 season.
The creator has stated that this arrangement is intended to continue through the remaining 3.0 fixes.
Pokemon Team Rocket Edition v3.0.2 Changes
Version 3.0.2 included another group of fixes and gameplay corrections.
Changes included:
- Nickname Inspector no longer crashing when attempting to display a nickname
- Correct teleporting from the Celadon base to the Route 5 base

Version 3.0.1 focused on early fixes after the major 3.0 release.
Among the changes were fixes for freezes involving Vulpix and Rattata when viewing Pokemon stats.
The creator also clarified that some problems reported after the update may have been caused by players attempting to use incompatible old save files.

How to Install Pokemon Team Rocket Edition
Pokemon Team Rocket Edition is a Game Boy Advance game, so you need a compatible GBA emulator.

How to Play on Windows
For PC, mGBA is one of the creator’s recommended options.

Just want to make sure I’m reading this right, the 2.1 version of this game that is listen above in English, is still only up to the sevii islands. Johto and beyond is only in Spanish.
v2.1 is only in spanish and has content upto hoenn and enlgish version is different wiht only upto to kanto and sevii
I think there is a big for one of the cheat codes. I was trying to get some rare candies into my bag, instead I got extra-small Exp candy. I was aware of bugs when I used the cheat code but I still thought I should report it.
I am having troubles switching pokemon outside of battle. The pokemon I have switched will just flash across the screen continuously and I am unable to do anything else.

I tried to import my save from English TRE sevii and kanto to the new English johto but when I go to click on the save it is a black screen? I can hear the music and it says my name and hours on the main menu but the screen is black

honestly, the game looks good but i didn’t really give it a chance when i found out i couldn’t play as a girl. i know the original red and blue didn’t give you the option either, but in a modern pokemon game i really just can’t get into it if i’m forced to play as a boy.

Hey! I finished Kanto and Sevii, defeated Oak and my Giovanni says that Johto Version will be released soon. Now, I have the Johto version but I want my pokemon on it. For example, I have trained the Larvesta we get near Birth Island upto level 80 and I like using that team so can I do it or do I have to have a fresh start in the Johto Release ?

Hola tengo un problema en la version española, estoy atascado en la región de jotho, estaba usando la version 2.1 cuando avanzando derroté a mirto y al entrar en la cueva helada me llama giovanni, al ir a hablar con el y decirme que tengo que volver al culto lavanda, no me sale donde está se supone que está en el muro de rocas bajando por pueblo lavanda pero hablo con el muro y no sale nada.
